If I Was A Rich Girl

Nananananananana, I'd have all the money in the world if I was a wealthy girl.

Bit of a flashback Friday there, sorry (but I'm not really sorry). Who didn't love Gwen Stefani?

As you might have inferred from the title, this is a post about a few things I would most definitely get if I were rich. I mean when I become rich. Duh. Or I'll just marry a billionaire. Less work that way, you feel me? (Obviously joking, guys.) Tomorrow I'll actually be quite busy getting my hair done, starving myself, and trying not to chip my nails...have you guessed it yet? My senior prom is tomorrow! I'm both anxious and excited, and I hope it'll be a fun time for all my friends and myself. Maybe I'll make a post about it eventually! At least to show you my dress-which brings us to the first item.

All I can say on the dress front is ELIE SAAB, ELIE SAAB, ELIE SAAB. After seeing some of his dresses scattered throughout the internet, I had to take the time to look at his 2013 Haute Couture collection. I cannot even choose one. The colors he uses are stunning, the beading and detail put into it, and the silky look....to die for. I personally love the coral and blue ones, but the gold, nude, and black are beautiful as well. Oh Lord, I've just discovered the Spring Summer line....so many beautiful colors. Let me post some photos so you can see this beauty for yourselves.

Credit for all above photos.
Moving on, even though I could look at his designs all day...
I was looking at Saint Laurent Paris's website, and I almost had a panic attack. I remember seeing a man in Italy who was wearing YSL shoes, and I knew they were quite an expensive, high-end brand, but I had no clue the extent of just how expensive...

Saint Laurent Classic Fedora in Beige Rabbit Fur Felt
Cute hat, right? Cute outfit in general, but let's focus on that hat.
$995.00
Uh, what?
EXCUSE ME?
Like I said, cute and everything...but basically $1,000?
No thanks.
Surprisingly, their stuff really doesn't do it for me. Doesn't make my heart beat a little faster. Shame.
Now that I've finished with my "price sticker shock", let's move on to shoes!

I've found two Jimmy Choos that have stolen my heart:

Tahi
Blush Perforated Suede Sandal Booties

Coral and that light, dusty rose pink seem to be very in lately (along with mint and lavender...makes me think of when Tyra Banks said there's "fashion people" who pick the colors that will be popular for each year or something..I probably sound a bit weird now, but I know she said it, okay?)

Kendall Beaded Platform Pump
Super high + super sparkly = stellar combination (in my opinion)
These remind me of my friend's shoes for prom, actually.

I think for now I'll leave it off with dresses and shoes (and my random hat that caused me to do some serious life examining). That's all you truly need for prom, isn't it? Perhaps I'll do a Part II once I find some more out-of-my-price-range items to drool over (which isn't difficult at all). If anyone else has prom soon then I hope you have a lovely time!

In conclusion, a quote by the ever so wise Carrie Bradshaw comes to mind: "I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet."

Spring Has Sprung....Sort Of

Hey guys! With the weather finally starting to perk up and myself attempting to be somewhat productive today, I thought I'd make a post about a couple different outfits to wear when transitioning from winter to spring. I don't know about you (but I'm feelin' 22), but where I live winter is still holding on with all its might. The sun is actually beginning to shine and the temperature's rising, but that pesky wind is keeping it fairly cold out. So, I decided to give you some ideas (with photos!) on what clothes will look cute and springy, but keep you comfortable at the same time.
Pants- Aerie/Shirt- Strawberry
(This blogging thing is more difficult than it looks! The wind was blowing and it was kinda sorta freezing, but I persevered and took some photos. Like I mentioned in my first post, I do not have a high quality camera, but you work with what you've got, right? Anyway, onto the outfits and what not.)

Even if the weather doesn't seem to be saying "SPRING!", I think we can all take the initiative to say "SPRING!" with some bright colors. Ergo, these coral pants. You don't want to get too crazy, so I went with a neutral grey shirt.

Shoes- Target
These went pretty well with the shirt, so I chucked them on. I think oxfords are adorable and will go with mostly anything. They do kind of seem like a shoe geared more toward fall time, but oh well. They're cute during all seasons, in my opinion.

Jacket- Unknown/Scarf- Claire's
Obviously if it's too cold you can throw on a jacket or even a scarf. I love light denim at the moment.
Onto the next outfit!

Dress- jcpenney/Army Jacket- Forever 21/Shoes- Charlotte Russe
We're getting into more formal, edgy territory here. At least, I think so. I'm not really sure where I would wear this. If I was going to wear it today, I would've definitely had to put on tights. This dress is adorable on its own, but the weather just wouldn't allow it. I'm obsessed with my military/army jacket though. I wish I could wear it with everything.

So hipster, omgerz.

Here's the lovelies. These shoes. I love them. A lot.
$10 at Charlotte Russe, can't get much better than that, folks.

Cardigan- Target
If you want a more preppy, conservative look then you can go with a plain cardigan and some more low key shoes.

Shoes- Target

These are pretty awesome too. They're like those Chelsea boots that seem to be quite popular in the UK, except with a leopard print. Every time I wear these, I get compliments galore. I haven't really seen anything quite like these since I bought them. Super comfy as well.

Hopefully that gave you some ideas or a little inspiration as to what to wear this spring! If anyone has any requests for me to blog about or advice on how I'm doing, let me know. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I have you have a lovely day/afternoon/evening!

Introduction

Hello! I've started noticing an increase in popularity of blogging in the past year or so, and I thought I'd give it a shot since it seems so fun! I don't really have a professional camera or anything yet, but we all have to start somewhere, right? Even the best bloggers who are using their blogs in their careers had to start at the bottom. Anyhow, I'll start out by telling you a bit about myself. That seems appropriate.

Eh-hem...

My name is Katie, as you've probably guessed from my blog's name. I'm thinking of changing the spelling to Katy, because I think that looks cooler, but maybe that's kind of an odd thing to want to do. I'm a senior in high school, and in the fall I'll be starting my first year of college/university. I'm excited and terrified. In the past year, I've come to be obsessed with all things beauty and fashion. I spend a lot of time watching YouTube videos on how to do the perfect winged eyeliner (even though I still can't do it!), and looking at Forever 21's online store (sadly, the closest store is 45 minutes away). I like to ski, and that's about the extent of my sport life. I've been trying to get into running, but that's still a work in progress. I've always had a little obsession with traveling and going to new places, but it's kicked into a full-blown fixation since I went to Italy last summer. Sometimes, I want to throw the idea of college out the window, get a job for a bit, and then just travel around the world. Then my brain is all like "NO", and I listen unfortunately. I do plan on studying abroad in London in a couple years, so we'll have to see how that turns out. Also, I enjoy obsessing over things such as Pretty Little Liars (June 11th needs to get here), Doctor Who (rycb), Sherlock (they're filming the new season right now, omg), Harry Potter (forever), and whatever else I happen to discover and enjoy. My favorite artist of all time is Taylor Swift. Yes, you heard me right (well more like read, but you get the point). She's been a huge inspiration to me since around 2008, and I will never not love that girl. She's wonderful. I'm going to one of her shows this summer (I also adore Ed Sheeran, his lyrics are spellbinding), and I cannot wait! Right now, my life basically consists of drinking too much Dunkin Donuts, stressing out about the FAFSA, and spending as much time as I can with my friends. This year's gonna be a big one, and I'd love it if you'd join me to see how it all plays out. I'm eager to see where my life goes, what will happen, and who I'll meet along the way. When it comes down to it, I'm just a girl trying to find a place in this world.

Here's myself and one of my best friends on the stone wall around Central Park; aren't we so cool?
I'm the one on the right with the blindingly bright pants.
Okay, thank you and goodbye.
:)
