Random Musings and Future Endeavors (???)

I was reading an interview in Lucky magazine with Zoe Saldana and something she said really got me thinking about what fashion is to me and the role it plays in my life.

Zoe said, "Fashion is art--it's absolute art. It's telling a story. So if I wear something, it will be because it reminds me of Grace Jones or a flower petal or water. I create all these worlds in my head. I live in this constant imaginative state".

If you think about it, fashion is something that's in everyone's lives. Every single human (at least in Western society), even if they may not wear anything besides sweatpants and a hoodie. We all have that one item, whether it's a dress, shoes, basketball shorts, that we just feel good in and that makes us walk with a little more bounce in our step. I just think it's amazing that clothing can affects us so, and it reminds me why I started this blog in the first place. It makes me want to strive to attain a career that could potentially be involved around fashion, because right now that sounds like the coolest job in the world. Not the most obvious or achievable, but I think it would make me happiest.

Not really sure what this little rant has turned into, but I've been thinking a lot lately and felt this was relatable to my blog. This year, I really want to start pursing things that make me happy, and it'd make me really happy to utilize this blog more.

It feels weird to not post any photos, so here's a couple outfit related photos from the past month.

This was from over winter break.

I wore this last Friday and it just made me feel good.
Red flannel + red lips + pushup bra = Feelin' like Beyoncé

Also, I will be going to London in March (screaming ensues that you're luckily unable to hear)! I will try to document my trip as well as I can (and maybe some OOTDs), so you can most likely look forward to that post. I hope you're all doing well, and that your days haven't been too cold. Think spring!

To conclude, here's another quote from the interview that I thought was relevant since I'll be going on a plane soon.
"I don't believe in hopping on a flight in your sweatpants. I don't care what your line of work is. I don't care where you came from. I don't care if you pulled an all-nighter and went straight from work to the airport--do not wear a sweatsuit on an airplane. That could be your last flight. I do not want to go down in sweatpants, hugging my pillow. If I'm going down, literally, let me go down in style."

Duly noted, Zoe. Duly noted.
