Thanksgiving Hues and Wintry....Pinks?
Hello all!
It's, again, been a couple months since my last update.
My first semester of college is coming to a close pretty soon...crazy, right?
I celebrated Thanksgiving this week (duh), and thought I'd show you what I wore.
Spending time with family and friends is my favorite part, and I'm incredibly thankful for all of them (and for all the delicious food).
Now that Thanksgiving's passed, I'm very excited for the Christmas season!
I love the holidays.
Well, here's my outfit from Thanksgiving.
Hope all you enjoyed yours as well!

College Life
Hello! I haven't updated since last month, but I am still alive.
I've been spending my days trying to get back in the groove of school, attempting to get food around the crazy dining hall hours, and really, really missing my own shower.
BUT, I have been enjoying my time here and I've learned a lot these past four weeks.
Academics-wise and about myself, which is all part of the experience (in my opinion).
I haven't had time (this is the first time in my life I actually really properly don't have time to do things and I don't like it) to work on any specific fashion posts or anything like that, so I thought I'd share with you what I've been up to (with some OOTDs thrown in, so perhaps that counts for the fashion part)!
So, here it is.
My journey from beginning to present(ish).

The beginning of a two and a half hour car journey to move-in day.
I was so unbelievably nervous.

My school has a castle.

It's kinda, sorta gorgeous.

We used the train to go to Philly for a scavenger hunt.
Awwwww (!!!).
Fancy, right?
Had this at Reading Terminal Market.
Delish.
I went home over Labor Day weekend.
I wore this.
My parents and I had dessert for dinner.
They're the coolest parents in the world.
Really, though.
This is my wall in my dorm.
It makes me happy.
My new friends and I decided to go into town, and we happened upon a number of antique shops.
I bought an old Lancôme makeup thing (not pictured).
The woman at one shop was particularly knowledgeable about each item she had, and discussed with us how it was unfair that British people can swear all they want and still come across as eloquent.
She was pretty cool.
Pre-first college party.
It sucked.
I got chocolate chip pancakes after, which made it okay.
That day I dressed like a baseball player.
College teaches you improvisational skills.
This skirt is the love of my life and from the most unexpected place.
(It's from the Miley Cyrus Max Azria line at Walmart, shhh.)
Meet my roommate, Janelle.
Aka: my best friend since 4th grade.
I really don't know what I'd do without her.
(Although, most of the time I dunno what to do with her, because she's cray cray.)
"I was reminiscing just the other day, while having coffee all alone, and Lord it took me away..."
I did go get coffee alone and walked around campus and reflected on the fact that I actually go to school here.
Like, what?
Don't lose who you are when you go away to school.
I swear, it went from 90° one day to 50° the next.
I hope I have this army jacket for the rest of my freakin' life.
Imagine an 80 year-old grandma wearing this.
That will be me.
(But not really.)
Oh you fancy, huh?
My dad picked me up last night for the weekend.
We got coffee and listened to music and it was great.
I returned home to the horrifying news that my cat, Twinkles, had passed away on Wednesday.
I got him when I was only four years old, and I can't believe he's gone now.
I miss him so, so much.
<3
I went on a little walk today.
Took me back to when I would ride my bike on this trail.
Nostalgic.
Boy oh boy, I love fall.
So yes, that about sums up what I've been up to this past month.
Well not all of it, obviously.
It has definitely been an adventure, and I can't wait to see what else is in store.
Hope you're all having a happy weekend.

Translating Songs Into Outfits (RED - Taylor Swift)
So, I got this idea awhile ago and it's taken about a month to complete. For me personally, when I listen to certain songs, I like to imagine music videos or the lyrics to the song being acted out in my head. I thought that could easily apply to the relationship between songs and outfits. Both songs and clothing create and give off different moods, so I thought "Why not pair clothes that fit with some of my favorite songs?". As I've previously mentioned, Taylor Swift is one of my favorite people. Ever. I actually just saw her in concert a couple weeks ago, and she (and Ed Sheeran) was brilliant. Her most recent album, Red, is incredible. That girl knows how to write and how to write well. The outfits you see will be a translation of the song into a visual representation. According to me, of course. You may have an entirely different outfit idea in your head for a certain song. Anywho, I hope you like this! I had a lot of fun doing it.
(And please excuse the background. I didn't really have another spot to set up my camera, and my dad's gardening stuff happens to be there...pretend it's not.)

State of Grace
"You were never a saint, and I've loved in shades of wrong. We learn to live with the pain, mosaic broken hearts. But this love is brave and wild."
Red
"Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes. Tell myself it's time now, gotta let go. But moving on from him is impossible when I still see it all in my head, burning red."
Treacherous
"Two headlights shine through the sleepless night and I will get you, I'll get you alone. Your name has echoed through my mind and I just think you should, think you should know that nothing safe is worth the drive and I will follow you, follow you home."
I Knew You Were Trouble.
"Heard you moved on, from whispers on the street. A new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be."
All Too Well
"You call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest. I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here, cause I remember it all, all, all too well."
22
"We're happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time. It's miserable and magical, oh yeahhh."
| I do have feet, I promise. |
I Almost Do
"I bet you're sitting in your chair by the window, looking out at the city. And I hope sometimes you wonder 'bout me."
We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together
"You would hide away and find your peace of mind with some indie record that's much cooler than mine."
Stay Stay Stay
"You took the time to memorize me: my fears, my hopes, and dreams. I just like hanging out with you all the time. All those times that you didn't leave, it's been occurring to me. I'd like to hang out with you for my whole life."
The Last Time
"You wear your best apology, but I was there to watch you leave."
Holy Ground
"Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress, we had this big, wide city all to ourselves. We blocked the noise with the sound of 'I need you', and for the first time I had something to lose."
Sad Beautiful Tragic
"Good girls, hopeful they'll be and long they will wait."
The Lucky One
"They tell you that you're lucky, but you're so confused. Cause you don't feel pretty, you just feel used."
| (I didn't like the original outfit that much, so I thought this would do.) |
Everything Has Changed
"All I know is we said hello, and your eyes look like coming home. All I know is a simple name, and everything has changed."
Starlight
"He said 'Look at you, worrying so much about things you can't change. You'll spend your whole life singing the blues if you keep thinking that way'."
Begin Again
"You throw your head back laughing like a little kid. I think it's strange that you think I'm funny, cause he never did. I've been spending the last eight months, thinking all love ever does is break and burn and end. But on a Wednesday, in a café, I watched it begin again."
If you have any questions about where something is from or anything like that, don't be afraid to ask!
I can't believe it's already August and summer is in its final stages.
I'll be starting college in a couple weeks, so I'm not sure what's really in store for this blog.
I will try to keep updating it!
Thank you for reading all this, if you have.
Have a wonderful day!
:)
